BRIGHT ZINC PLATING

Bright zinc plating is a multi-step process that involves cleaning of the base metal with acids and deminerilised water washes before the components are immersed into the zinc solution. This electrodeposition leaves a thin layer of zinc on the metal, resulting in a bright finish that prevents corrosion. This plating process is typically termed passivated zinc plating meaning that the base metal is made 'passive' by the less reactive zinc and therefore will react less to the external environment.

ZINC-NICKEL PLATING

In this process both Zinc and Nickel are jointly plated to the substrate giving greater corrosion resistance through enhanced passivation than just Zinc alone. The Nickle is around 10-15% of the coating with the remaining comprising of Zinc. The combination of Zinc and Nickle in this process act as a sacrificial coating and has replaced toxic cadmium plating in many industries, including automotive and aerospace. This alloy offers enhanced salt spray resistance, high-temperature stability, wear resistance, and a clear or blue-grey/black finish that serves as a good key for subsequent paint systems.

COPPER PLATING

METHODS OF PLATING
We can offer various options for electroplated finishes to suit colour options, oxidation protection levels and include most standard formats. The volume and size of the parts will generally determine how we will plate them and these include the industry standard options below:
Rack Plating – As the name suggests the parts are suspended from a rack on wire hooks to enable them to be dipped into the plating tanks and retrieved safely.
Small Barrel Plating – This is generally used for smaller parts, examples of which include fixings (screws, nuts bolts etc). In this instance a small perforated drum holds the parts and is rotated to ensure an even plating coverage while submerged in the plating fluids.
Large Barrel Plating – The large barrel plating method is identical to the above but a larger drum is used to hold more and often larger parts. This method ensures a very cost effective way of plating multiple parts of a similar size. (Only Available in Zinc/ Zinc Nickel).
